ALL ABOARD FOR ADVENTURE

Train ride to Jolly Jingles Christmas Market is cancelled.

November 12, 2025

We regret to announce that we are unable to participate in this event this year.

We have had a change in circumstances, we have experienced theft and vandalism to the train.  Thieves broke in and stripped out all the copper wiring and conduits leading from the genset (power generator) to the caboose and passenger car.  Without this power we are unable to provide heat, light and sound in these cars. Additionally, the thieves removed all the wiring on the generator motor itself and stole the starter.  The genset provides power to the passenger car and caboose so we can have heat, lights and run any audio or other equipment we may need in the passenger car and caboose.

In collaboration with Battle River Railway, we have been working to assess the full extent of the damage and to determine temporary and long term solutions to allow us to fulfill our schedule. Although a temporary fix is possible, it will not be in place in time for the Jolly Jingles Christmas Market this coming Saturday. (November 15).

We hope that people intending to take the train to Jolly Jingles Christmas Market will decided to drive there instead.  It is a wonderful event, and you can get a jump on checking off your Christmas gift list.  The Jolly Jingles Christmas Market is still happening, but we are not able to participate this year.

Please do consider bringing a non-perishable or cash donation for the Rosalind Ag Society Self-Help Shelf, there will be collection bins set up for your donations.

Sincerely

Friends of the Battle River Railway
